Gender and Development Focal Point System and Gender and Development (GAD) personnel from different agencies such as Games and Amusement Bureau (GAB), Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), and East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) participated in the two-day Workshop on “Gender Indicator and Sex-Disaggregation of Data” of FAME Leaders’ Academy at Plenary Hall, Narra Bldg., Makati City, on November 11-12, 2019.

The workshop focused on refining the participant’s knowledge on the Sex-Disaggregation of Data (SDD), a process of collecting and processing gender-related data, which is mandated by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) to Local Government Units (LGU) and government agencies nationwide.

This process will be of great use in developing a functional database of each agency, and thus, will also play an important role to support the plans and budgets as well as the accomplishment report of each LGU’s and agencies.

The workshop aimed to review basic Gender and Development concepts concerning the programmatic analysis, planning, and development.

Moreover, the workshop provided a venue for the participants to broaden their expertise in the principles and importance of Gender Indicators and Gender Statistics in identifying issues and concerns and develop an integration plan for the Gender Performance Indicators to the agency’s monitoring and evaluation system.

Mr.Alvin Cloyd Dakis, Gender Specialist and FLA’s Head Faculty on GAD spearheaded the two-day workshop on SDD.
